What We Do
We acquire
In most instances, the artwork a space needs already exists. We source it through the gallery or directly through artist relationships we've built over years of our own practice. Reaching well beyond the usual commercial channels, we handle acquisitions at trade pricing and provide the context you need to present each piece to a client with authority. For larger hospitality projects we're used to working alongside procurement companies and will prepare our documentation to fit their systems.
As a studio of working artists, we can find the right work for a space three ways – we acquire it, we commission it, or we make it.
Sourcing what already exists is the common ground in art consulting. The rarer thing is the studio that can also brief an artist into a site-specific commission, or design and produce the work itself when nothing on the market fits. Because we do all three, a project never reaches the point where the right work simply isn't available – and we move between the three as the space, the timeline and the budget ask.
We commission
When a space calls for something that doesn't yet exist, we can brief an artist to create it. Drawing on a network of emerging and mid-career artists – many of whom we know through our own exhibiting and Graham's two decades of teaching – we manage the whole arrangement: the artist conversation, the contract, the timeline, payments and installation. The commission arrives finished, rather than as a risk you're carrying alone.
We make
And when the right work can't be acquired or commissioned, we design and make it ourselves. This is the capability few consultancies have. It means original prints produced on our own press in Marrickville, and it means custom work we design in the studio and produce alongside the specialist makers we trust. For a multi-unit project it might be a series of limited edition silkscreens, exclusive to your space. For a single room it might be a textile, a relief, or a piece in a medium the project hasn't seen yet. There's no point at which a project runs out of options.
Custom Framing
Carefully selected framing can elevate artworks and ensure they fit harmoniously with the selected materials throughout the space. We work with numerous framing partners depending on the project and location; they allow us to offer framing options ranging from the most cost effective through to premium, museum-quality frames.
Supporting Services
Shipping & Installation
Experienced in the detailed packing, shipping and installation process, we bring an understanding of industry standards for the handling of fine art pieces. We ensure that works are appropriately crated. Where necessary we take care of importation documentation and finally we provide expert on-site supervision and direction during artwork install.
Care & Documentation
The work outlives the install, and it should be looked after accordingly. For the pieces in a project we prepare clear, medium-specific care instructions – how to handle, light and live alongside works on paper, textiles and the more sensitive mediums – so a client isn't left guessing. We also provide condition report templates the client or their facilities team can use to record each work's state on arrival and track it across the years that follow.
Start with a conversation
Share the broad strokes of your project and we'll work out together how Print Club can support it – which of the three routes fits, and where art belongs in your timeline.
