Picks from the Frieze LA Previews

We made our way through the Frieze LA previews this week, and came away with a long list of works we can't stop thinking about. Something we kept noticing was how drawn we were to floral still lifes. Booth after booth, it was the quiet, object-centred works that stopped us in our tracks. We suspect it has something to do with spending so much time immersed in the preparation and installation of Wallflowers at the Frye Art Museum. When you've been thinking deeply about the loaded history of decorative imagery and the politics of the domestic interior, you start seeing still lifes very differently and seeing how prevalent they continue to be! Here are the works that caught our eye.

Frieze LA is on view February 26th – March, 1st, 2026.
